Symposia (1h/2h) These symposia convene renowned speakers from all over the worldandcoverawiderangeoftopicsinthefieldsofclinical microbiology, infectious diseases and infection control. A num- ber of symposia are arranged in cooperation with ESCMID study groups, while others are jointly organised with partnering soci- eties or organisations. Some of the symposia give an overview over recent developments and research results, while others re- view the literature or are presented as pro-con debates. Educational Workshops Educational Workshops are organised in cooperation with ESCMID study groups and partnering organisations. TAE Trainees Day (TD) On Saturday, 23 April 2022, 13.00 – 16.00 the Trainee Associ- ation of ESCMID (TAE) will organise the Trainees Day, a session dedicatedtotheuniqueneedsoftrainees.Amainandpopular part of the session is the round tables, which give younger pro- fessionals the chance to talk to experts in an informal setting. Participants can sign up for one of the expert tables of their choice to talk about their career. This session will take place in Hall D. Open Forums Open forums are one-hour sessions that take place in Arenas where speakers discuss with the audience ideas and views on a particular issue. Typically, Open Forums feature controversies and policy-related aspects. Speakers can make use of electronic presentations, but that is not mandatory. The allocation of time to presentations and discussions is tailored for each session, dependingonitsspecificagenda. Pipeline corners This session type allows small innovative pharmaceutical com- panies, with early-stage diagnostic or therapeutic solutions, to present their products to a wider audience. Abstract Programme Oral Sessions (1h/2h) These sessions are created by the ECCMID Programme Commit- tee from the top-rated abstracts. These sessions are chaired by one or two experts on the topic.
